The Tervo Local History Society (Tervo-seura ry) was established in 1983 and is based in Tervo in the North Savo region. It brings together all those for whom Tervo has left a mental footprint'. This footprint could equally be associated with an unbroken line of ten generations at the same address as with recollections of brief but vital moments in one's life in which Tervo has played a critical role.
The Society is perhaps best known for organising summer exhibitions. The Places, names and stories project and the exhibition that was held constitute the largest venture undertaken in recent years.
